2017 Walsh Jesuit Ironman Seeding Criteria

The Walsh Jesuit Ironman Wrestling Tournament will employ double-elimination line bracketing with wrestle-backs placing the top 8 wrestlers per weight class.

Tournament General Manager Corey Haddad has final discretion and is in-charge of seeding the Walsh Jesuit Ironman.

Criteria for seeding at the 2017 Walsh Jesuit Ironman will be based on any
previous performances as stated below:
• Any Previous Walsh Jesuit Ironman Champion, USA Wrestling Vaughan Junior & Cadet Freestyle National Champion, and/or UWW Cadet Freestyle National Champion
• Any Previous Walsh Jesuit Ironman, USA Wrestling Vaughan Junior & Cadet Freestyle National Championships, and/or UWW Cadet Freestyle Nationals: 2nd – 8th place
• Any Previous High School State Championships Tournament/National Prep Championships: 1st – 8th place

State placement prior to 9th grade does not count for seeding.

Each weight class will be seeded through 16 wrestlers. The tournament will use the
Trackwrestling website. Unseeded wrestlers will receive computerized, random draw.

PLEASE DO NOT email or call questioning seeded or unseeded wrestler(s). It does not work that way. Please do not list any additional information outside the criteria. Freshmen can be seeded even if they did not place at USA Wrestling Vaughan Cadet Freestyle National Championships but this would be rare at weights above 106. They will be measured by placement at The Super 32 Challenge and World of Wrestling Triple Crown events: Flo Kickoff Classic, Flo Tulsa Nationals, and Flo Reno Worlds.
